Classes delayed for third day in row; cancellations under consideration
Frigid temperatures continue to grip the region, causing local schools to delay openings 2 hours again Thursday, Jan. 15, for the third day in a row.
By Wednesday afternoon Nevis, Menahga and Park Rapids were tentatively scheduled to start late, but both Nevis and Park Rapids officials said they may cancel classes altogether if predicted wind chills dip to 60 degrees below zero by Thursday morning. Temperatures are expected to plummet to 32 degrees below zero overnight.
