City waives storm water charges for three months

The City Council has waived all storm water utility charges for the most recent calendar quarter (October, November and December 2010).

On January's water bill, Park Rapids property owners should see no charges for the storm water utility. Because there was so much public comment and concern after the first storm water utility billing (October 2010 for the months July, August and September 2010), the city has frozen the billing until all the voiced concerns are addressed.

City staff has addressed many of the concerns through on-site visits and reviewing credit applications. But, there is still some work to be done. Please know that when the billing system is reactivated, the city will not go back and make any charges for this billing period. It is a freebie.
