Chairman of Blackduck School Board injured in ATV crash
The 53-year-old chairman of the Blackduck School Board was airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D., Monday afternoon following an all-terrain vehicle accident.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office:
Dale Compton was injured about 3 p.m. when the ATV he was driving struck a deer near his residence on Erdahl Court in Tenstrike.
He was driving the ATV home when a deer jumped across his path and ran into him, said Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp. Compton was thrown from the ATV.
Compton was transported by Blackduck Ambulance Service to the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, where he was flown to Fargo via North Memorial Air Care with head injuries.
He was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday morning.
