CEO abruptly resigns from Essentia Health St. Mary's hospital in DL
Essentia Health CEO Tom Thompson is resigning as president of Essentia Health St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes, effective the end of June.
It's not clear why, or what his plans are. He did not return a phone call. The company announced the move in a news release after a reporter's phone call, adding that "no interviews or comments will be granted regarding this communication."
During Thompson's tenure, the news release says, "Essentia Health St. Mary's realized substantial growth in services and facilities, consistently high quality and operating performance, and formation of an integrated health system unique to rural communities."
Essentia Health St. Mary's "consistently advanced its mission and demonstrated through its quality care and services that it delivers on the promise of 'Here with You' to all, with particular concern for the region's poor and powerless," the news release added.
Essentia Health thanked Thompson for his years of service and for making patient-centered care a focus in the Detroit Lakes' community and region.
"As our organization moves through this transition, we look to each and every one at Essentia Health St. Mary's to continue on the promise of serving our patients and our communities," the news release stated.
