Cass Lake man injured in Thursday morning accident
Two vehicles collided at about 11 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of state Highway 197 and U.S. Highway 71 in Bemidji.
Fred Laquire, 65, of Cass Lake, was treated and released at North Country Regional Hospital for a possible neck injury.
Laquire was driving a 1994 Dodge Spirit west on Highway 197 while Lester Stenland, 92, of Bemidji, was headed south in a 1994 Buick LeSabre, according to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls.
Stenland was in the intersection when Laquire's Spirit struck the LeSabre in the driver's side door, the State Patrol reported.
Stenland was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and both vehicles were totaled.
Also responding to the scene were the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Fire Department and Bemidji Ambulance Service.
