Detroit Lakes native Carroll J. "Kelly" Nasset, 63, of Moorhead, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fargo.
Caroll John Nasset was born to John and Mabel (Nordgulen) Nasset on July 9, 1944 in Detroit Lakes, where he grew up and attended school, later graduating from Crookston Ag School. On Aug. 20, 1966, Kelly married Donna J. Thompson in Detroit Lakes. Together, the couple raised two children. Donna died on Jan. 6, 2003.
Kelly's love of life was his work. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling around the country, delivering goods with his truck. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, watching racing and spending his winters in Arizona. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Surviving Kelly are his son, Dan Nasset of Moorhead; daughter, Kris (Roger) Hamernik of Twin Valley; two brothers, Harald Nasset of Mound, Minn., and Paul (Sharron) Nasset of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; one sister, Avis (Kenny) Hoehne of Frazee; as well as four grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Donna Nasset; and twin sister, Catherine Nasset.
Visitation takes place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Garden in Fargo.
