Calvin D. Glockzin, 73, of Browerville, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the VA Health Care System in St. Cloud.

Calvin was born June 9, 1940 in Little Falls, to August and Edith (Stoll) Glockzin. Calvin served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

Calvin married Ardith Gusey July 27, 1985 in Park Rapids.

He was an active churchman and Elder at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples, as well as a member of Lutheran Layman's League, Confessional Lutherans and a delegate to district and national conventions of Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

At various times, Calvin was self-employed at his potato warehouse and as a barber in Staples, an insurance agent and a real estate broker. He also worked for the State of Minnesota Soil Conservation District.

He enjoyed woodworking, singing in the Barbershop Quartet, chorus and Bible study.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Ardith; children, Howard Glockzin of St. Cloud, Thomas (Lisa) Pluth of Branson, Mo., Cynthia (Michael) Potvin of Cedar, Timothy (Beth) Pluth of Chippewa Falls, Wis. and Cara (Brady) Nagel of Eau Claire, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, April 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples, with Pastor Robin Collins officiating.

Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church.
