Butterflies, garden club laud Wallick's work

The Park Rapids Garden Club has declared Darlene Wallick's 2-year-old perennial garden the flower patch of the month in August. The octogenarian's garden at 405 Oak Blvd. held many pleasant surprises this spring when "volunteers" began to sprout - including some sunflowers. Winged beauties are drawn to her butterfly bush. The garden club welcomes nominations for the designation; contact Lynne Denman at 732-5570. (Jean Ruzicka / Enterprise)
