Businesses encouraged to ‘Light Up Park Rapids’
Adding to the festive air of the upcoming holiday season, the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business Association (PRDBA) are inviting businesses throughout the community to put up lights in window displays or on their buildings.
“Light Up Park Rapids” invites businesses to help create lighted corridors this holiday season. The goal is a beautiful, seasonal community collaboration to brighten Park Rapids as the days grow shorter.
“The Chamber and Downtown are excited to sponsor a holiday lighting contest and spark the holiday spirit community wide,” said Nicole Lalum, Chamber executive director.
The light decorating contest will run from Friday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 7 with volunteer judges choosing their favorite displays. Three winners will be announced at the Jingle Bells Drawing and Gala Celebration that starts at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at Century School.
One business will receive a traveling trophy with a photo of the winning display and three winners will receive $100 each in prize money from the Chamber and PRDBA.
Businesses must sign up by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 to be included in the judging. For more information, please contact the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 732-4111 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
