Bookkeeper tells police she stole more than $100,000 from Moorhead grocery and spent it at casinos
Moorhead police are investigating the disappearance of a large amount of money from Cash Wise Foods.
Court documents say more than $126,000 were taken during the past year and a half.
A search warrant filed in Clay County District Court says a former bookkeeper at the grocery story told police officers that she took the money and spent it at area casinos.
Police Lt. Tory Jacobson said the investigation is still in its early stages.
Court papers also say the woman was a Cash Wise bookkeeper for 12 years.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says charges have not been filed.
