Body of missing Lisbon man found by farmer near Aberdeen
The body of a missing Lisbon, N.D., man was found in Brown County, S.D., on Monday.
Leon Weight, 78, had been missing since Feb. 17, when he was last seen driving on U.S. Highway 281 near Edgeley, N.D.
Lisbon Police Chief Jeanette Persons said she was contacted Monday by the Brown County Sheriff's Office regarding Weight. A farmer found his body and his car along a road not used during the winter.
Weight's body was taken to Aberdeen, S.D. and his family has been identified.
Aberdeen is the Brown County seat.
Persons said no foul play is suspected.
Weight was a retired farmer who lived at the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon. Extensive ground and air searches for Weight turned up no sign of him after he was last seen about 8 p.m., Feb. 17. Weight had driven to Oakes, N.D., that afternoon to buy birdseed.
