Duluth police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a vacant lot on the 200 block of East First Street this morning.

The body was found slumped at the end where a chain-link fence met a building at the back of a vacant lot on the hillside of the street. He appeared to be dressed in a jacket or windbreaker over a hooded sweatshirt, its hood pulled over a baseball cap, sweatpants and leather pants and cotton socks. His hands appeared bare. Investigators examined the scene and the body, which was removed about 9 a.m.

Police at the scene had no official comment and said that information would be coming later today.
