Boat driver injured in western Duluth
The driver of a boat was taken by ambulance on Monday to a Duluth hospital to be treated for injuries he suffered when he was thrown from his boat when it hit the shore of the St. Louis River in Fond du Lac.
"He came around the corner about 10 feet from shore and went by doing Mach 1," shore fisherman Byron John of Wrenshall said. "He cut our lines. Then he hit a rock, spun around and hit the shore. He went flying." The boat grounded so hard that it took several shoves from a small excavator to refloat it. The boat's driver was conscious when he was taken from the scene.
