Blood drive planned this week
United Blood Services is holding a blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. today (Tuesday), from noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) and from 7 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 22 at the American Legion in Park Rapids.
The community is welcome and encouraged to donate. Participants must be 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 ponds and be in good health.
"Communities like Park Rapids are so important to our blood supply and we would just encourage everyone to give blood donation a try," said Deb Gemar, donor recruitment representative for United Blood Services. "The need for blood is ongoing and in behalf of the patients receiving that life-saving blood, we thank you."
United Blood Services is the sole provider of blood the 73 hospitals in North Dakota, northeast South Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
