Beverly Ann Dormanen was born to Caleb and Anna (Backholm) Dormanen on Jan. 6, 1937 in Red Eye Township, Wadena County, Minn. She attended District 28 Country School near her home through the eighth grade, and went on to attend the Menahga Public High School.

On October 18, 1952, Bev married Edwin Donald Lund in Menahga. This union was blessed with seven children: Lynette, Albert, Curtis, Tim, Randy, Chris and little Lila, who died in infancy. Bev and Edwin made their first home in Menahga, where they resided from 1952 until 1960.

Bev devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious, homemade potato salad and many other tasty dishes. The young family moved to Detroit Lakes in 1960 and lived there for 16 years.

In 1976, they purchased the Midway Store west of Menahga, which they operated until 1979. In 1979, they returned to Detroit Lakes, where Bev studied nursing at the Detroit Lakes Area Vocational Technical Institute. She graduated as a LPN in 1981.

In addition to caring for her family, Bev also worked at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, where she held a variety of job responsibilities for a period of nearly 20 years. She also practiced nursing in Minneapolis for a number of years, and worked for the Omnetics Corporation, also in Minneapolis. She was a long time member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Menahga, and was formerly a long time member of First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes.

In her spare time, Bev enjoyed doing embroidery and crocheting. She was also a big fan of the Midway Snurdbirds Baseball Team. In 1991, Bev and Edwin retired and moved back to Menahga, where they lived until the time of her death.

Bev devoted her entire life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Edwin Lund of Menahga; her six children, Lynette (Dr. Bruce) Conmy of Detroit Lakes, Albert Lund of Menahga, Curtis Lund of Dilworth, Tim (Lynn) Lund of Rochert, Randy (Shelly) Lund of Callaway and Chris (Missy) Lund of Wadena; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; her four sisters, Alice Kryola, Violet (Jim) Juntenen, Jean (Edwin) Samuelson and Ruth Dickhausen, all of Menahga; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Bev in death were her parents; her infant daughter, Lila; four brothers:, Harry, Fred, Clifford and Clarence Dormanen; as well as two sisters, Delores Buckendahl and Ellen Dormanen, who died in infancy.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, continuing for one hour prior to the start of services at the church on Friday.

Funeral services have been set for 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, with the Rev. Steven Bruer officiating.

The active casket bearers will be Bev's grandsons, Scott Beadle, Jake Lund, Edwin Lund, Caleb Lund, Bill Conmy and Shane LaFriniere. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Interment will take place in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery west of Menahga.
