Bemidji firefighters on scene of business fire
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Communications Center received a 911 call at 10:49 AM on Thursday, November 22, 2012, advising that smoke was pouring from the roof of the Birchwood Color Center, a business located in the 3400 block of Bemidji Ave N on the north end of the City of Bemidji proper.
Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance and the Bemidji Police Department responded to the scene. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the building. At this time the fire is 50% contained. Bemidji Ave N is shut down to through traffic from 29th St NW to Inglewood St NW until further notice to allow for fire trucks and heavy equipment.
Bemidji Fire continues to remain on scene with assistance from the Cass Lake Fire Department and Blackduck Fire Department, as well as the City of Bemidji Public Works, Beltrami Industrial and Sparky's Construction.
