Art Leap 2011 features a perfect fall day to showcase the dozens of artists and their works.

Downtown at Moose Creek Village in Park Rap-ids, art hounds dined on hot dogs and got to meet and greet with the artists.

One was Fargo water-color artist Ellen Jean Diederich, whose greeting cards are sold in the store and in other locations around Park Rapids.

Diederich is a well-known painter in the Midwest. This is her first Art Leap.

The open studio event features local artisans that are household names and painters like Diederich, who had to relocate her studio temporarily in downtown Park Rapids.

Studios will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Saturday, and Sunday.

Maps are available at the Community Education office, Blank Canvas Gallery in Park Rapids and the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce or may be downloaded at www.parkrapids.com or www.prlaac.org.
