Balanced scoring leads Menahga to pair of wins

     Balanced scoring helped the Menahga boys basketball team extend its winning streak to seven games in a row.

     Five players scored in double figures as the Braves defeated Sebeka 78-62 last Friday night at Sebeka while Austin Rudquist and Levi Schwartz tallied double-doubles in leading Menahga to a 74-50 win over Wadena-Deer Creek Monday night at Wadena.

     The two wins lifted Menahga’s overall record to 13-5.

Braves defeat Sebeka

     Aaron Hrdlicka (14), Bob Lusti (14), Rudquist (13), Austen Schwartz (12), Levi Schwartz (12) and Kyle Skoog (9) led a balanced offensive attack as the Braves defeated Sebeka.

     Rudquist and Skoog pulled down six rebounds each while Austen Schwartz had four assists for the Braves, who improved to 7-2 in the conference.

     Sebeka fell to 0-9 in the conference and 2-16 overall.

Braves defeat Wolverines

     Rudquist’s 23 points and 11 rebounds and Levi Schwartz’s 12 points and 14 rebounds led the Braves past W-DC.

     Hrdlicka also pulled down 11 rebounds, Austen Schwartz had seven assists, and Jacob Kicker and Hrdlicka had five steals each.

     Jared Reintiz scored 16 points and Dylan Dumpprope had 10 points for the Wolverines, who fell to 3-17 with their ninth loss in a row.
