Three inside baskets by Brooke Olson, two layups by Shay Nielsen and two jumpers by Trisa Hutchinson gave Detroit Lakes a 15-6 advantage with 11:02 to play in the first half.

Baskets by Charity Ridlon and Katelyn Hilman-owski cut the gap to 17-11 at the 7:15 mark before the Lakers went on a 14-2 run behind four baskets by Nielsen and a 3-pointer by Karli Kerzman. That run gave Detroit Lakes a 31-13 advantage. Katie Klein's 3-pointer made it 31-16 at the half.

Klein scored off a steal and Ridlon hit a 3-pointer as the Panthers sliced the deficit to 33-22 with 16:03 to play. That's when the Lakers used a pair of 3-pointers by Kerzman to spark an 18-5 run to take control. Kerzman capped the run with a jumper and a layup off a steal as Detroit Lakes led 51-27 with 7:14 to play. A layup by Morgan Olson, two free throws by Megan Grimes and a jumper by Gabie Johnson accounted for the Panthers' scoring down the stretch.

Nielsen and Kerzman finished with 15 points apiece while Olson added 12 points to lead the Lakers, who improved to 4-4 in the conference and 9-11 overall.

Ridlon (11) and Klein (8) combined for 19 points for the Panthers, who fell to 0-9 in the conference and 5-15 overall.

Park Rapids' home game against Northland Remer scheduled for Monday was postponed because of the weather.
