Balanced Braves top Tigers in double overtime

     The Menahga girls basketball team relied on a balanced scoring attack to defeat Pine River-Backus 59-56 in double overtime Thursday night at Menahga.

     Menahga’s starting five of Jenny Skoog (16), Savannah Kako (11), Alayna Lake (10), Jen Stifter (10) and Hannah Allebach (9) combined for 56 points as the Braves evened their record at 2-2.

     Megan Felthous scored a game-high 31 points for the Tigers, who fell to 4-3 on the season.

     The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Braves, who lost Park Region Conference games to New York Mills (51-34 on Dec. 10) and Verndale (42-36 on Dec. 13).
