The Crazy Quilters Guild of Park Rapids attended a presentation, "Oh, My Backside," by Sue Harmon Thursday night at Riverside United Methodist Church. Harmon, above, shows some of the quilts she has made over the years, in particular, some of the backings, which can give quilters difficulty. She uses leftover fabric from the fronts of quilts to make unique backings. Below, Harmon shows the front and back of a small quilt.

Harmon began quilting in 1974 and has since been a teacher, lecturer and quilt appraiser. Her quilt collection includes old quilts from the 1800s made out of feed sacks as well as newer quilts. She has been collecting Minnesota fabrics to create quilts that fit in with northern Minnesota. Harmon is affiliated with the American Quilters Society as a certified quilt appraiser and the Professional Association of Appraisers in Quilted Textiles.
