Austin Jule Stibbe, 83, Nevis, formerly of Mendota Heights, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

Raised in Saint Paul, he was a graduate of Cretin High School and the University of Minnesota.

After serving as a supply officer in the U.S. Navy, he began his career as a CPA.

He was active in many organizations, including the Twin Cities Council of the Navy League, where he served as president, Minnesota Society of CPAs, Heritage Community of Park Rapids, Boy Scouts, and Norske Torske Klubben.

A friend to everyone he met, he was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and ability to tell a story. He most cherished his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (King); children, Anne (Bill) Babcock, Craig (Jane), David (Jane), and Karen (Brian) Bebel; grandchildren, Joe (Chrissy), Stephen (Erika), Michael (Chiara), and Charles (Nikki) Babcock, Kevin and Aileen Stibbe, Austin and Maren Stibbe, Kayla, Mari, and Jack Bebel; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Jule Stibbe.

Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, with a prayer at 1:30 p.m.

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Macalester Plymouth United Church, 1658 Lincoln Avenue, Saint Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
