Auntie Kreamsaugen wins awards in Lone Star State
Jasper's Jubilee's Auntie Kreamsaugen (a.k.a. Darlene Hilde-Rolle) was recently presented the FAME (Families Advocating Moral Entertainment) award in Pharr, Texas for Comedienne of the Year 2011.
She also was chosen "favorite comedienne" in a survey published by the winter Texan Times newspaper in Mission, Texas. She won this award by receiving the top number of votes in any category of entertainers.
Hilde-Rolle has been
entertaining since 2004 at Jasper's Theater in Park Rapids. She is a native of Ulen and lives in Detroit Lakes. She plays the role of a streetwise, self-pro-claimed marriage counselor and tells tall tales from the fabled Snoose Hollow.
This past winter Auntie Kreamsaugen took her show, "Just Plain Funny" to the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas.
Dressed in the traditional garb of a Midwestern farm wife, she kept audiences entertained with her stand-up comedy and musical renditions while dishing out plenty of homespun wisdom.
Beginning July 14 through Aug. 20 she will be performing at Jasper's Theater along with four generations of her family.
She is teaming up with Kerry Christiansen, a national champion yodeler from Disney World, Aug. 29 and 30 at Jasper's. Christiansen is a unique vocalist, alphornist, zitherist and instrumentalist.
Auntie Kreamsaugen will also perform with magician Jack Sand at Jasper's Sept. 3 and 10.
Auntie Kreamsaugen's motto is "A joyful heart is good medicine." Proverbs: 17:22
