Area runners finish Fargo Half Marathon
Lisa Frame-Koppelman led a group of 15 Park Rapids runners who competed in last Saturday's Fargo Half Marathon.
Frame-Koppelman completed the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 45 minutes, 1 second to finish 100th overall out of 3,773 female runners and 17th out of 614 runners in the female 35-39 age group.
Jessica Miller followed in 1:45:18 to finish 107th overall among the women and 18th out of 720 runners in the female 30-34 age category.
Jack Brann finished 503rd out of 2,383 male runners with a time of 1:48:30. Brann was 70th out of 346 runners in the male 35-39 age group.
Kerry Johnson clocked a time of 1:51:57 to finish 660th overall in the women's division and 12th out of 260 females in the 45-49 age division.
Three Park Rapids runners were among the 275 runners in the male 40-44 age group. Ed Waggoner was No. 1,048 overall among the men and 82nd in the age group with a time of 1:52:08. Brian Behrens clocked a 2:00:00 to place No. 1,048 among the men and 131st in this age group. Jason McCollum completed the course in 2:03:21 for the No. 1,189 spot among the men and No. 149 in the age division.
Jake Waggoner and Matt Sullivan were among the 86 runners in the male age 15-19 division. Waggoner was 50th in this age group in 2:03:48 and Sullivan was No. 51 in 2:03:53. Waggoner finished No. 1,207 among all the men while Sullivan was No. 1,211.
Cleo Hartung was No. 173 out of 614 in the women's age 35-39 division with a time of 2:06:15. Hartung finished No. 1,004 among the females.
Duane Wallace finished 93rd out of 175 runners in the male 50-54 age group. Wallace was No. 1,467 out of the 2,383 men.
Jodi Erickson was No. 1,242 among the women with a time of 2:10:02 to finish 59th out of 260 female runners in the age 45-49 division.
Donald Black was No. 189 out of 234 men in the 45-49 age group. Black finished No. 1,891 in the men's division with a time of 2:21:45.
Andrea Kaster clocked a 2:56:02 to finish No. 3,368 in the women's division and No. 560 out of 614 in the women's 35-39 age group.
Leah Pigatti was No. 44 out of 53 women in the 60-64 age group and No. 3,691 overall in the women's division with a time of 3:37:22.
Menahga's Kevin Pietila finished 104th in the men's 40-44 age bracket with a time of 1:55:23 while Menahga's Nick Lenzen was No. 152 out of 220 runners in the men's 20-24 age group with a time of 2:09:37. Pietila was 824th overall while Lenzen was No. 1,479 in the men's field.
Five Menahga women also competed in the half marathon. Julia Livingston finished No. 115 out of 614 runners in the 35-39 age group with a time of 2:00:03 and was No. 642 in the women's field. Nina Johnson was No. 162 out of 506 runners in the 20-24 age group with a time of 2:06:10 to finish No. 1,001 among the women. Jenny Johnson clocked a time of 2:07:08 to finish No. 50 out of 129 females in the 15-19 age group and No. 1,060 overall. Chelsie Weeding was No. 2,069 among the women and No. 81 in the 15-19 division. Lori Weeding clocked a 2:31:57 for 90th out of 181 runners in the women's 50-54 age group and No. 2,585 overall.
Nevis' Megan Stambaugh and Tom Stambaugh crossed the finish line in 2:08:47. Megan Stambaugh was 54th in the female 15-19 division and No. 1,169 among the women while Tom Stambaugh was No. 91 out of 175 in the men's 50-54 age group and No. 1,436 among the men.
Lake George's Michael Mastin finished the race in 2:19:15 to place No. 1,826 among the men and No. 278 out of 346 runners in the 35-39 age group.
From Osage, Alison Yliniemi was No. 3,267, Krista Hesby was No. 3,522 and Jill Stevenson was No. 3,523 among the women. Yliniemi finished 118th out of 129 runners in the 15-19 age group with a time of 2:50:34, Hesby was No. 416 out of 441 runners in the 40-44 age division with a time of 3:08:15 and Stevenson was No. 239 out of 260 runners in the 45-49 age division with a time of 3:08:15.
Moses Waveru of Sun Prairie, WI, won the men's title in 1:07:23 while Ladia Albertson-Junkans of St. Paul led the women's field with a time of 1:20:57.
Angela Bellanger of Osage ran the 26.2-mile marathon in a time of 5:50:54. Bellanger finished No. 866 out of 921 women and No. 166 out of 173 runners in the 30-34 age group.
More than 20,000 runners competed in this year's Fargo Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K races.
