Her fiction story, “After Birth,” and non-fiction story, “That’s All They Knew was Work,” will appear in the magazine to be released with an open house launch party from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct 4 at the Lake Region Arts Council Gallery, 133 South Mill Street, Fergus Falls.

The event is informal, free and open to the public. Authors will be present at the party to read and discuss their work.

The board of directors of the Lake Region Writers Network and the magazine’s editorial team will join in celebration of some of the best creative writing in the region.

The magazine’s managing editor, Luke Anderson, says, “This beautiful publication is a labor of love, produced by volunteers who love writing as fine art and want to see writers in the region recognized for excellent work.”

The fifth annual Lake Region Writers Conference will follow Saturday, Oct 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Legacy Hall, Minnesota State, Fergus Falls.

The event offers a variety of workshops for writers, including an opportunity to work with award-winning keynote speaker Joe Paddock, poet, oral historian and creative writing professor.

Lake Region Review and the Writers Conference are efforts of the Lake Region Writers Network which cultivates and celebrates creative writers by building a supportive community.
