Albert "Al" J. Huesman, 73, of Nevis, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

Albert John Huesman was born Jan. 15, 1940 to Clarence and Virginia (Farthing) Huesman in St. Paul. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul.

At the age of 17, he enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. He lived in California for a while before returning to Minnesota.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie M. Johnson on May 30, 1965 at Chamberlain.

Al was involved in Boy Scouts for 60 years. He volunteered at the Hubbard County Food Shelf and was an EMT for many years. He also was a retired Nevis volunteer fireman.

He cooked at the Crow Wing Scout Camp for 10 years and he also cooked at the Goose Crossing Restaurant in Nevis and Park Rapids. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking.

Al is survived by his wife, Bonnie M. Huesman of Park Rapids; two sisters, Gail and Pat; seven brothers, Clarence, Danny, Jimmy, David, Steven, Michael and Joe; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dick; and two sisters, Jackie and Debra.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. today (Saturday) Jan. 18 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis. Pastor Darrell Morton is officiating.

Visitation: one hour prior to the services at the church.

Honorary urnbearers: are his many friends, colleagues and boys involved in the Boy Scouts over the years.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may to be given to the local Food Shelf; Boy Scouts of America; or the Nevis Fire Department.
