Akeley's Minnesota Folklore Children's Theater to present 'Sleepy Hollow'
Ichabod Crane, "a bumbling, loving schoolmaster," will take the stage in a presentation of "Sleepy Hollow - A Northwoods Tale" at the Akeley Regional Community Center. The play is a re-telling of Washington Irving's story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." This version is set in the north woods of Minnesota in the late 1800s with Crane dispatched from the metro to teach and lead a choir in a rural village. The play will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Oct. 23 and 30, Saturday, Oct. 24 and at 3 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. A Halloween matinee will be performed at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 followed by a children's Halloween party.
