Akeley C&C reorganizes, setting goals
A "brainstorming barbecue" has led to the renaissance of the Akeley C&C, Kristin Fake told the Akeley Council this week.
About 50 area residents arrived for a group discussion, brainstorming on the region's resources, the role of the C&C and the part non-profits play in the area, Fake said.
From the comments, a survey is being sent to meeting participants to prioritize goals, determining a "top five."
Contributors at the meeting said ideas are plentiful; follow-through is lacking.
The prioritization will set the wheels in motion.
The next C&C meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at Wick's Wood Products.
Membership forms may be downloaded at the Akeley website. All residents in the Akeley area are welcome. Fees are $25 for citizens and non-profits, $100 for businesses.
