Through hands-on learning experiences the K-4th graders learned about aerodynamics, combustion, flight while developing three different rockets at the 4-H Aerospace Day camp. Assisted by youth leader Cody Wicks, Nevis, area youth investigated the basic principles of flight with a group of new friends that shared the similar interest.

Supported by at state-wide MN DNR curriculum, trained 4-H staffer Mark Haugen led an older group of youth through an introduction to fishing through the MN-AQUA program. Youth investigated many aquatic science related issues including how fish are classified into different families as well as learning about the life cycle of a walleye before making their own "Pop-Can Caster." Although no ten pound bass were caught the entire group had a blast experiencing these engaging hands on learning opportunities.
