25-year-old drowns after jumping off bridge in rural Otter Tail County
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. -- A 25-year-old rural Fergus Falls man drowned Sunday night after jumping off the Schmidt bridge near Elizabeth in rural Otter Tail County.
Daniel Anderson was found submerged in the water around 8 p.m. after rescue workers were dispatched at 6:41 p.m. to West Red River Lake and County Highway 3, said the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office. CPR was performed as Anderson was taken to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is under investigation.
Several agencies responded to the scene: the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, Elizabeth Fire Department, Otter Tail Water Patrol, Ringdahl Ambulance, Minnesota DNR and Otter Tail Dive Rescue Team.
