An expensive fish house is a luxury lodge for ice fisherman, so long as it stays above the ice.

According to the Todd County Sheriff's Office, a $15,000 fish house fell through Long Lake southeast of Long Prairie on Dec. 17 in the early morning hours.

A report said the fish house broke through about 9 inches of ice after being on the ice for only about two days. The 16-foot manufactured unit only partially breached the ice sheet, and the owner told authorities he plans to allow the ice to thicken around the house before trying to remedy the situation, the TCSO reported.
