Park Rapids middle school students are hosting an event that offers fun, exercise and stress relief - a 5-on-5 Dodgeball tournament.

Century middle school student council members came up with an idea to raise money for "The Wreck," a proposed youth and family center in Park Rapids.

The event, which students hope to make an annual tradition, starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at Century School.

Physical education teacher Aarin Galzki has been working with the kids to create an event that includes several divisions: fifth/sixth grade, seventh/eighth grade, ninth-12th grade and "young at hearts."

The number of games will be dependent on the number of teams.

Pre-register by Friday, Oct. 26. The cost is $25 per team with up to 5 players and one coach. A coach is not required. The cost is $30 the day of the event. Payments can be made to Park Rapids Youth and Families Activities Fund.

Each division champion will receive t-shirts for their team.

Come and cheer for your favorite team. Concessions will be available.

Volunteers are needed to help out with the event as well. Contact Aarin Galzki for more information or to volunteer at
