Thursday, March 24

Century School third and fourth graders will present a concert, "We Are the Children," at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24 in the cafetorium. Those who attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to help with Century School's Food Drive.

Friday, March 25

The Osage Lions Club is hosting a fish fry at the American Legion from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 25. The menu includes hand breaded deep fried fish, oven roasted red potatoes, coleslaw, carrots and desserts. All proceeds go toward helping community activities.

The Hubbard County Master Gardeners will present a "Plant a Basket" seminar from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 25 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Flying W Gardens greenhouse.

People interested in the seminar can choose which program works best for their schedule.

The program includes planting for pollinators by Kirky Otto, plants for hanging baskets/containers, planting your own hanging basket and a tea party. Participants can leave their baskets at the greenhouse until there is no frost and pick up the basket when it's fully grown. There is a cost for the program.

The Friendly Squares will host a square dance Friday, March 25 at Century School. A mainstream workshop will be from 7:30 to 8 p.m. with mainstream dancing from 8 to 10 p.m. Caller will be Jim Jirak with round dances between tips cued by Donna Stone.

A potluck lunch will be furnished by the club members. All dancers and spectators are welcome.

Saturday, March 26

Kitchigami Regional Library is sending buses down to view the King Tut exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota Saturday, March 26.

A bus will be coming through Park Rapids at 9:30 a.m. and return around 7:15 p.m. Tickets are free but seating is limited.

Children under 10 must be with an adult.

A benefit spaghetti and fettuccini Alfredo dinner for Larry (Jiggs) and Jean Tretbar will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at the Osage Fire Hall and Community Center.

A freewill offering will be received to defray the couple's medical costs.

Sunday, March 27

Wadena Post 3922 is serving a dinner honoring Vietnam veterans and spouses from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 27 at the Post Home, 213 SE 1st Street, Wadena.

All are welcome to enjoy a meal with fellow veterans.

Monday, March 28

Mary Harrison will present the program "Anecdotes from the North Country - Minnesota in the 1800s" from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 28 at the Park Rapids Area Library.

Harrison is an actor, director, writer, artist and avid storyteller. She has put together a program of anecdotes from the 1800s, gleaned from diaries, records and family tales, which makes history live in a different way.

Auditions are being held for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 28 at Nevis High School. Minnesota Folklore Theater is looking for all who want to have their time on the stage. Performances will be held at Nevis High School from May 5-19. For more information call 652-2666.

Tuesday, March 29

The Headwaters Center for Lifelong Learning will host an afternoon at the auction with the Jokela Family sharing stories from their 60 years in auctioneering in "Selling Northern Minnesota." The program will be held on Tuesday, March 29, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Northwoods Bank in Park Rapids.
