Youth musicians entertain
Young musicians took to the stage Thursday night for a concert during Youth Music and Art Showcase V Thursday evening.
Student artists’ works are displayed at downtown businesses and youth musicians performed Thursday night and Friday afternoon.
New voices and some returning bands and soloists performed.
Local bands scheduled to play included Incredibly Real – Dan Walsh, Jack Walsh, Jack Bateman, Logan Veo and Derek Reichling; Pugface – Sky Fynboh, Andrew Sauser and Austin Kalla; and Scarlet Empire – Corey Joslyn, Trai Schmidt, Edgar Guajardo and Eddie Kidd.
Duos were Autumn Pendegayosh and Sky Fynboh, Lael and Nathaniel Bervig, and Jake Helfrich and Craig Braunschweig. Soloists were Cammille Henderson and Alex Ziemann. Greta Ertl was spinning hoops between sets.
Several activities were also available for youth, including face painting, caricatures and dress up photos.
Funding for Youth Music and Art Showcase V is provided, in part, by Itasca-Mantrap’s Operation Round Up and a Region 2 Arts Council grant through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature, and the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund passed by Minnesota voters on Nov. 4, 2008.
