Craig Rittgers is “a common face in the glass business,” logging nearly three decades in the industry.

Now, he’s opened an independent enterprise, Craig’s Glass LLC.

Working for Belle Taine Glass for 28 years, Rittgers gained experience in all areas of glass - commercial, which he prefers, and residential.

He offers custom, heavy glass shower doors, the Clear Shield glass “makes soap scum history,” he said of the state-of-the-art glass that’s gaining popularity.

His list of options available include mirror- and glass-varied thickness, insulated units, table tops, colored and pattern glass and shaping and patterning both mirrors and glass.

Commercial storefronts are among his masterworks, including doors and windows. Albrecht’s on Main is an example.

Rittgers will replace flat laminated glass on heavy equipment. He repairs screens and installs new. Storm window repair is among the services and he offers weather stripping for doors and windows.

He works with custom cabinet makers in the area to create one-of-a-kind pieces.

The exception: Windshields. “I don’t do windshields,” he said.

His “Wednesday run” sends him off to Walker, Longville and Hackensack, where he picks up projects at lumberyards.

Rittgers, who keeps commercial glass in stock, will provide estimates.

He’s available on a 24-hour basis for emergency work.

“Except when I’m fishing,” he joked.
