For decades, and maybe even longer, the Park Rapids Enterprise has provided an opportunity for "business briefs" — submissions of new hires, promotions, recognitions, honors, professional development and other business-related news from companies.
The Enterprise will continue to provide an outlet for these important business briefs, but on Feb. 28, readers will notice a change.
Moving forward, businesses will be able to submit their own briefs online and include photos for a small charge.
The Enterprise has always edited business brief submissions to fit for content, grammar and copy style. By now making this content paid material, we're allowing the contributors to determine how it's shaped and headlined. Up to 7 inches of copy will be available for $25, with each additional inch of copy available for an additional $10 fee. The fee will cover the cost of printing.
Business announcements are defined as the following:
• Hires and promotions;
• Honors and officers (people getting awards or being named to different boards);
• Professional development (people who complete training or get certified for certain roles;
• Briefs (other business news contributed by outside sources).
A link on the Enterprise homepage will provide access to the business news submissions, where contributors may include the text and submit photos.
We know this will be a change, but we hope it will be one that provides business contributors with more options to include the information they want to share with the community at a nominal cost and a quicker publication than the process currently allows.
The Enterprise will continue to publish photos of business contributions of over $500 to nonprofit groups free of charge.
As before, sales events, grand openings and the like are considered advertising and will be charged by the display ad rate.
