TruStar to expand Park Rapids branch
TruStar Federal Credit Union announced it will expand its office in Park Rapids, adding 1,000 square feet, five offices and a large meeting room. The foundation will be put in prior to the frost, with construction starting after the first of the year.
The Park Rapids office opened in 2003 with five staff members, according to a news release. Due to the team's dedication and commitment to excellent customer service, the branch has now more than doubled in size. This is what has prompted the expansion.
"Our growth has exceeded our expectations and this expansion will help us continue to offer outstanding service to our members," said Talaine Collins, Vice President, TruStar Federal Credit Union. "We are grateful for the strong local support we have received."
TruStar is committed to the communities it serves and has opted to use local contractors on this project. "Locally owned businesses recycle a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community," noted Dale Johnson, President and CEO.
As a financial cooperative, TruStar Federal Credit Union is operated for the benefit of its members who share in the company's performance. Each credit union member has equal ownership and one vote—regardless of how much money he/she has on deposit. This is quite unique in the financial world and sets TruStar apart from other institutions.
With assets in excess of $200 million, TruStar is headquartered in International Falls and is the 18th largest credit union in Minnesota. Established in 1960, TruStar serves a growing base of members with branch offices in Littlefork, Bemidji, Park Rapids and Menahga.
