Itasca-Mantrap grants awards to organizations

The Itasca-Mantrap Trust Board awarded Operation Round Up grants to 52 area organizations. A total of $37,650 was distributed to those organizations from Hubbard County and the surrounding area on Wednesday, April 30.

In March 2006, the Itasca-Mantrap Board of Directors authorized the formation of the Operation Round Up Trust, which provides financial assistance to non-profit, community and civic organizations for projects that enhance the quality of life in the local area served by Itasca-Mantrap.

The Trust is funded by voluntary, tax deductible donations from Itasca-Mantrap Members who round up their electric bills. Members are automatically enrolled in the program unless they notify our office that they do not wish to participate in Operation Round Up. Money collected from Member contributions is kept in a separate Trust account.

The Operation Round Up Trust is governed by a seven-member board composed of local people appointed to oversee the Trust and manage the funds. The Trust Board meets twice a year to review grant applications and disburse the funds, based on applications received. This round of awards includes:
